2022 Stripe Distilled
My current body of work intentionally pairs down color palettes and plays with the illusion of transparency, expectation of perfection and the vibrant collision of color plains.
Taking stripes into a more graphic dimension has forced me to slow down quite a bit, as I tend to paint in frantic bursts of creativity. I can decide where I want a crisp line and where a little of the hand painted nature of an original work can stay. Finding the balance of tones and shades has been the most fun (and ongoing) challenge with this season of my work.
